Description#
Impact models in natESM represent the effects of climate conditions and changes on natural and human systems. They use climate model output or other climate data as input to simulate impacts in specific sectors and domains, such as hydrology, ecosystems, agriculture, or land use.
By translating climate variables such as temperature, precipitation, and radiation into sector-specific responses, impact models extend the Earth system modeling framework beyond the physical climate system. Their integration with core and optional components enables the assessment of climate impacts and supports interdisciplinary applications of natESM.
Our current defined impact component include The mesoscale Hydrologic Model (mHM) .
